18k Scarab Charm
18k Scarab Charm
These scarab charms, eight in total, were originally a vintage bracelet. We have edited them into a wearable pendant form, and performed careful finishing work to usher them into a new age of adornment.
Each charm features a scarab on the face; the back features a second scarab in silhouette as it pushes the morning sun over the horizon. This was the prevailing origin myth of the sunrise in Ancient Egypt, where the scarab beetle was personified in the god Khepri.
The charm is fixed to a modern bail for durability and style.

Ancient Egyptians revered the scarab beetle for its seemingly magical strength and mysterious life cycle. Khepri, an Egyptian god of the early morning with the head of a scarab, was believed to push the sun into the sky at the dawn of each day and down to the underworld at dusk, a myth likely inspired by observing scarab beetles pushing balls of dung across the sand.
